Homemade Laundry Detergent
I love this laundry detergent recipe because it’s so easy, and it’s a dry mix – no boiling or storing liquids, which means less work for mom! (or dad, sometimes Landon makes it too ๐
Ingredients:
- 1 bar of Dr Bronner’s soap (sold at Whole Foods for $3.50 or Target for about $4.80) – I use the lavender scent after a friend suggested it & it smells wonderfully fresh, but you could use whatever scent you like best
- 1 cup Borax*
- 1 cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda*
*Sold at Publix, I couldn’t find them anywhere else, but may have just missed ’em
Grate the bar of soap, using the smallest grater option. Add borax & washing soda. Mix, store in container of your choice, & you’re done!
We switched from using All Free & Clear, which was better than regular laundry detergent, but still not all-natural. And I really enjoy the lavender scent of our new detergent now – it makes doing laundry almost enjoyable ๐
