Hello from the land of the ice & snow 🙂

Landon had a class to take for work, & enough points for me (+ Leo 😉) to fly along, so we’re in Minnesota! It’s the most last-minute trip we’ve ever taken, and the shortest (48 hours), but it’s been a lot of fun.

With this trip Leo has become our first child to see snow! The other two are so jealous & want us to build a snowman for them, but it’s so cold here the snow won’t even stick. I wasn’t sure what Leo would think of the arctic weather, but he seems to like it just fine (though we’ve found he’s pretty happy anywhere as long as mama’s there too.)

This is my first time seeing snow in eight years, and my first time photographing it ever, which was fun! I like the perspective on embracing winter in this article (although I know that’s easy for me to say since I don’t live here.)

And the trip happened to fall over our wedding anniversary, so we’re celebrating that today! 8 years, 3 kids, 5 homes, 6 hospital stays, lots of good, normal, wonderful, & mundane days all mixed up in between. Our marriage isn’t perfect, but it’s gotten better each year & I’m looking forward to many more 🙂
