Sore Throat Remedy

When I start to get a cold, the first symptom I get is a sore throat. I came across this recipe a year or so ago and have been amazed with how quickly it works – after a couple of doses my sore throat is gone.

Between this & the essential oils we started using last year (most often Breathe Ease or Immune Strength), we’ve managed to avoid any full blown illnesses – a little runny nose/scratchy throat or cough once in awhile, but nothing to really complain about.

Wanted to share as we approach cold season, because sore throats are the worst 😉

Recipe

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar (I always use Bragg’s)
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Mix well. Take a tablespoon or two every hour or two until sore throat improves.

Now, the trick is to kind of pour it back into your throat & swallow without letting it touch your tongue (so spicy!!)

Last night my throat was hurting at bedtime so I mixed this up & took it once, then felt better immediately & was able to go to sleep 🙂20161111-DSC_8392
