More Love
I find that I second guess myself a lot throughout the day. Analyzing if I’m doing things “right”. Big things, but mostly little things.
A week ago I started a 21 Day Brain Detox. It aims to identify toxic thoughts, and replace them with healthy thoughts.
As I’ve been thinking about my thought life, I’ve realized that when I l worry about if I’m doing it right it steals a lot of joy out of life. And when it comes to parenting we can’t do it right all the time. Life happens, we make mistakes. Things that seemed like a good idea at the time sometimes turn out otherwise. But if we love, the love makes up for the difference.
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8 NIV)
This is my replacement thought. When I start to worry, analyze, I think love instead.
“Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT)
