Family Road Trip: Round 1
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
We took our first road trip since Kaden’s been born, which I’m both surprised & pleased to say, went very well! Kaden’s been slowly outgrowing his passionate hatred of the carseat, and between the Christmas lights Landon put up in our car, reading books, coloring, a few movies on the iPad, & lots of snacks, he did really well! I actually think I might prefer it to flying – it was much less stressful, & almost kinda fun π
Our week with Landon’s family in southern Virginia was very nice & cozy.
We cooked lots of food (homemade vegan green bean casserole in the middle – so good!)
I learned how to shoot a gun – doesn’t get much more nice & cozy than that π
Thanksgiving Day at Landon’s aunt’s was beautiful – we had lots of fun playing outside.
And later playing inside. Catch Phrase has got to be one of the most fun games ever. Especially when you play boys vs. girls.
Team 2 = girls.
Back at the cabin, Kaden loved helping Nana & Papa get firewood.
And the pre-bedtime bubble baths that followed. (Pottery Barn Kids has an awesome natural bubble bath!)
And here are a few more images from our trip that I don’t have any captions for.
Today we’re working on getting our house in order, & feeling the familiar mixture of being very happy to be home while also very sad to leave.
In the coming weeks I’m looking forward to wrapping all the presents hiding in our closet, taking Kaden to see Santa, baking lots of cookies, & finishing a little Christmas shopping!
Do you have any fun plans for the holiday season this year?
