Blueberry picking
Today was our 6th annual visit to Beck’s Brothers blueberry farm. It was our first time going anywhere since March 14 too!
I can’t say staying home has been too hard for us, we have plenty of space indoors and out, and each other to keep us company. But it was really pleasant to do something that feels “normal” & we’ve done so many years in the spring, and to get some blueberries too!
There were definitely a lot less berries than usual – I think more people have probably been out to pick them! So it took a little more hunting to spot the ripe ones. Leo said “it’s like playing hide and seek! The farmers hid the berries, and we have to find them!”
Kjersti was grabbing at branches the whole time we were picking (until she fell asleep), trying to eat the leaves. Then on the way home she started gagging on something & when we pulled over I found half a leave in her mouth 😛 Next year we’ll teach her to eat the berries 😉
