The good stuff

I hope you’re well, wherever you’re reading this from. 

Things have been good here. Some days are better than others, but whether we have a rough day or a great day, one of my favorite things I try to do before going to sleep is to jot down my favorite parts of the day in a journal. 

They’re usually small moments that would never come to mind again if I didn’t intentionally stop and think what were the best parts of today…

And something funny I’ve noticed, on the nights when we’ve had a rough day, and the first thought that comes to my mind is there were no good parts today (it doesn’t happen often, but it definitely happens sometimes), is when I start looking for what the good parts were, there are always so many!

I love the way this changes me from feeling frazzled and frustrated to such a peaceful state of mind, just from noticing the good stuff. 

Things like… 

  • Same day delivery for teething tablets
  • Reading The Horse & His Boy with K & A before bed 
  • Fresh shower feeling
  • Kjersti’s giggles
  • Playing outside before bed with perfect weather, a breeze, & beautiful clouds
  • Leo snuggles 

These are the things I want to remember.
