Fall in Florida

We went out to Lakeland this weekend in search of a fallish-looking farm sort of place, and ended up at Smith Family Ranch.

Overall we had a nice time – we stayed from open at 10-12:30 & the weather was actually nice and almost felt like fall until the last half hour or so.

They had a cute “pumpkin patch” (imported, since pumpkins can’t grow in Florida 😉 ), hay ride, some animals, country music, fair foods, air cannon, paintball guns, & more fun. Some things I felt could have used an update, but overall it was fun, the prices were fair, & I think we’d go again next year.

Alia enjoyed the tractor train ride best. Kaden liked shooting the air cannon and paintball guns. And I think Leo most enjoyed walking through the pumpkins & examining them to pick one out, although he was pretty happy about feeding the cows too.

We spent the rest of the day at Landon’s grandma’s house, so overall it was a nice October day 🙂 Although despite all the pumpkin fun I had a reminder that we’re still in Florida when I came home with a sunburn 😛
