Belly Update: Week 14

Haven’t given an update on this pregnancy yet, so thought I’d fill you in on all that fun stuff πŸ™‚

The first 6 weeks (most of which I didn’t know I was pregnant) were fine. Then came the nausea that I had for 20 weeks with Kaden, kind of an all day I hate looking at food, smelling food, thinking about food feeling, accompanied by the constant sensation of being about to throw up but never actually throw up. Plus super tired & occasionally dizzy. The next 2 weeks were good, still tired, but able to eat & otherwise function (cook, clean, & take pictures as usual) a lot easier. Now the last week has just been completely different & I’ve felt pretty much terrible. I’ve been really dizzy (low blood pressure), some days to the point where when I stand up I start to black out right away. Add to that I’ve been throwing up average one meal a day & it’s just all kind of :P, not your easy, stereotypical 2nd trimester for sure. I don’t mean to complain too much though. It’s plenty uncomfortable now, (although it seems to be improving the past couple days), but really I’m grateful to be having this experience at all. That I get to be a mommy again is so wonderful it makes all the temporary discomforts are quite minor & certainly well worth it for the outcome πŸ™‚ I am so excited to give birth, to hold our newborn, to see Kaden be a big brother, to watch baby learn & grow each day & week & month, to have a family of 4, it all sounds absolutely fabulous.

On other notes, we had our first midwife appointment 3 weeks ago. It was so much fun. I’m seeing the same midwife who delivered Kaden, as well as another I worked with last pregnancy, and I just love them both. They are so caring & knowledgeable & I feel so confident that we will have the best birth experience possible partnering with their care. Their office was so fun for Kaden too, filled with lots of toys & books & puzzles & a nice couch for the whole family to sit on. We are planning our first homebirth for this baby (K was born at a birth center) which I am SO excited about. It’s gonna be awesome. More on that later πŸ™‚

Well this seems pretty long, so if you’re still reading, thanks! More updates to come in the following weeks & months as we get ready for baby to come πŸ™‚
