Recipe

Granola

I tried this recipe earlier this week, & the first batch turned out so good my friend Jenna said it “tastes like it can’t be healthy!” I really like granola for a quick snack or breakfast, but store-bought is pretty expensive & usually has a lot of sugar. This recipe is whole grain & uses no refined sugar plus is high in protein, fiber, & a pretty good source of iron. (It’s not low calorie however, so if you’re watching your weight you might not wanna eat more than a serving or so a day.)

Ingredients:
3 cups rolled oats
3 tablespoons whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup almonds
1 cup chopped dried apricots
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon sea salt

Bake at 300 for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool & enjoy!

Wow… I really really don’t like maple syrup! But I couldn’t taste it!
