Graduating

Commencement & a Birthday

My little sister Clarissa graduated high school last week. We are all so proud of her, and had lots of fun celebrating!

Kaden enjoyed “graduation”. He especially liked the drums, & watching for “Roo Roo”.

The Graduate.

Commencement was the same day as Mimi’s birthday, so we had lots to celebrate! We had dinner at Seasons 52, which was elegant & delicious.

Party Time

Yesterday we got up early to make 6 dozen cupcakes for the graduation party. I used this recipe for cookies and cream cupcakes. Kaden & Landon’s job was to break the cookies up.

The boys both did a remarkable job fighting their temptation to eat the cookies instead πŸ™‚

They turned out really pretty, and yummy too.

After much debating on what to get Clarissa for a graduation gift, we decided on canvas prints of a few of her senior pictures from here & they turned out absolutely beautiful. Now I want to get a bunch done for our house πŸ™‚

Both of my baby sisters.

Davis, Clarissa, me, & Faith. They are the reason I want to have a big family – siblings are built-in best friends for life <3

The party was lots of fun. We put together a slideshow of photos of Clarissa’s past 18 years in iPhoto, which was a lot of fun too (and really easy!)

(all glass bottles pictured are Root Beer, for those wondering πŸ™‚

Kaden crashed halfway through the party and needed a nap. In which situations, FaceTime on the iPhone is an awesome substitute for expensive video baby monitors πŸ™‚

Sometimes, when I’m lucky, Kaden is cuddly when he wakes up from his nap πŸ™‚

The Aftermath

After a week straight of parties & fun, our house was feeling a bit neglected. So this morning, Landon, Kaden, & I took some time to freshen things up.

Kaden loves to help clean. He thinks wiping “bubbles” off the cabinets is the greatest thing ever. Except maybe riding the vacuum cleaner.

A friend sent me some products from Norwex a month or so ago, & I just had the chance to read the instructions & try em out. I was really impressed with how the window cloth worked – after years of trying different natural products without anything coming close to the effectiveness of Windex (which we don’t buy because of all the icky chemicals), I think I’ve finally found a natural rival! And all you do is spray the surface with water & wipe clean with the window cloth. Worked especially great on all our mirrors. Mommy is happy.

Hope you’re having a fabulous week!
