Belly Update: Week 37

Tomorrow we move to our “new baby house” as Kaden calls it (“baby” referring to himself, in third person.) Almost everything is packed & ready! I’m so excited for this next chapter in our lives, with a new home AND new addition to our family. I feel a little sad too, as we say goodbye to our current home, where we’ve been for the past 3 years. There are a lot of wonderful memories here: Kaden’s first days, first Christmas, first steps, how he loves “my fountain!” in the courtyard, runs out the door at every opportunity to chase lizards & find sticks & leaves. It’s been a happy place, but as our family grows it’s wonderful that our living space can as well πŸ™‚

Last night Kaden asked for a bubble bath right when it was time for bed, but seeing as it might be his last one here, we postponed bedtime & filled up the tub with bubbles and toys, and it was very nice to just sit with him & watch him play, reflecting on our time here as his Daddy went around the house with the power drill taking care of all the last minute details (curtain rods, shelves, and the like.)

We got these bath crayons at Target and they’re so much fun! His #1 request is “draw pumpkin!” quickly followed by “draw green stem!”

I had my 37 week midwife visit yesterday. Everything was good, baby is still very active & seems to have plenty of space & fluids as she continues to move around a lot πŸ™‚ The midwife said she does not think this baby will be 9 lbs. (like her brother), since she still seems to be pretty little now. She guessed we’ll have her a week or so past our due date, which would put us at the beginning of September. But of course, it’s impossible to say, so we just get to wait and see…

I’m hoping she waits long enough for us to get moved in, unpacked, organized, decorated, and cook and freeze a few meals to have on hand for our Babymoon. Although it would certainly be exciting if she came sooner πŸ™‚

A little more packing left for today, and then moving day tomorrow! Last night I was talking to K about it while he was taking his bath & he asked “Bella come too?” and I told him yes, to which he responded “Don’t forget Bella!”

Hope you’re having a wonderful week!
